RISE:PACE - Small Group Dog Training Walks in Sawbridgeworth and Harlow

If you’ve loved group obedience classes, but you’re ready to take your dog’s skills out into the real world, our RISE:PACE sessions are the perfect next step.

RISE:PACE is a small, on-lead, structured group walk and training session held at Pishiobury Park in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire and Harlow Town Park Essex - designed for puppies, nervous dogs, or dogs who are reactive or easily distracted. It’s ideal for owners who want to build confidence, proof behaviours, and create positive associations in a controlled, less busy public environment before stepping up to our urban classes.

Step up from the field: real-world skills in a controlled walk.

A Step Up From RISE:BASE - Confident Dogs, Calm Owners

Our RISE:BASE classes provide a secure field to practice obedience, focus, and engagement - perfect for foundational learning. RISE:PACE is the next stage, helping your dog generalise these skills in a more stimulating outdoor environment.

During a one-hour walk at Pishiobury Park or Harlow Town Park, your dog will experience:

  • Stop-offs along the route to work on engagement exercises

  • Activities designed to promote neutrality around other dogs and people

  • Confidence-building exercises tailored to your dog’s skill level

  • Positive exposure to mild distractions in a safe, structured way

This gradual, supported exposure helps dogs learn to navigate the real world calmly, giving owners confidence to enjoy walks, parks, and public spaces without worry.

Training With Like-Minded Owners

One of the biggest benefits of RISE:PACE is the community aspect. These small group sessions allow owners to:

  • Train alongside other like-minded dog owners

  • Observe different dogs and learn strategies to manage behaviours

  • Gain support and encouragement from someone who understands your training journey

This creates a supportive environment for both dogs and owners, encouraging social learning, engagement, and confidence.

Why Exposure and Proofing Matter

Dogs don’t learn skills in a vacuum - they need to experience them in real-life situations. Gradual exposure and proofing help dogs generalise behaviours so they can respond reliably outside of a training field.

With RISE:PACE, an experienced trainer is there to:

  • Guide you and your dog through exercises

  • Adjust challenges to suit each dog’s comfort level

  • Teach techniques you can use on your own walks and in daily life

By building positive experiences and a calm mindset, dogs learn that other dogs, people, and mild distractions aren’t a threat, giving them confidence in a range of environments.

Every stop-off is an opportunity to teach calm, reliable responses.

  • Strengthen the bond between you and your dog

  • Be part of a community of supportive, like-minded dog owners

With structured support, guided exposure, and fun exercises along the way, your dog will thrive, and you’ll feel more confident in everyday situations.
