FAQs

  • Dogs of all ages and breeds are welcome here at ASCENDK9.

Banned breeds must however be exempt and owner must ensure they adhere to applicable law, such as use of muzzles and specified length of lead.

  • Group classes are for current ASCENDK9 clients who have completed at least one private lesson and have been invited to attend group sessions. This is to ensure you and your dog are ready to succeed in a group training environment.

Once you have completed your Initial Assessment, I will advise you on what next steps to take to reach your goals, whether you are ready for group classes and if so, which type would be most beneficial for you and your dog.

  • Every dog is unique, which is why there is no one-size-fits-all approach. The number of sessions your dog will need depends on their current skills, behaviour, and your training goals.

All new clients begin with an Initial Assessment, after which we will recommend the most appropriate training pathway - whether that’s the Puppy Foundations Plan, Obedience Plan, or Reactivity & Behaviour Plan. For the best overall progress, some clients may combine private lessons with group classes once the assessment and pathway are in place.

  • No, but we recommend our Virtual Coaching Service for owners struggling for help and advice with behaviours occurring at home, such as separation anxiety.

Our set training location in Harlow has provides a quiet, spacious environment with free parking.

  • Yes, reactive dogs can and do attend my group classes. As an advocate for reactive dogs, I have a strict "no greeting" policy for dogs attending the class. ASCENDK9 group classes are structured to ensure they are a safe space for reactive dogs and their owners to train and succeed with confidence.

Only clients who have been invited to progress with group classes are permitted to attend, to ensure we have a calm, safe environment for all attendees.

  • If you have more than one dog you would like to book for training, you will need to book two Initial Assessment sessions.

If you can’t see availability for two back-to-back lessons online, please send an email to becky@ascendk9.com to schedule directly.
