Group Classes
we don’t believe in cookie-cutter classes. Dog training isn’t one-size-fits-all - and neither are our clients. That’s why we’ve reimagined the traditional training journey with something bold, flexible, and purpose-built for real life.

Group Class FAQs
-
We offer a variety of dog training classes in Hertford, Sawbridgeworth, Epping, Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford, and Broxbourne. These include:
Group obedience classes - building focus, engagement, and reliable obedience skills around distractions.
Urban obedience classes - structured sessions covering socialisation, life skills, and manners in real-life environments such as high streets and town centres.
Specialty workshops - such as recall masterclasses, loose lead walking, and muzzle training.
-
We keep our class sizes small - usually between 4–6 dogs - to ensure each owner gets personal guidance and every dog has the space to work comfortably. Smaller groups help maintain a calm environment and maximise training time for you and your dog.
-
This depends on the level and triggers of your dog’s reactivity. We want all dogs to feel safe and supported, so if your dog struggles around other dogs or people, you’ll need to start with a Private Lesson first. Once your dog is comfortable, we can help transition them into a suitable group class.

No - and here’s why that’s actually a good thing! At ASCENDK9, puppies are integrated into our mixed-age group classes from the start. This gives them the opportunity to learn alongside calm, well-trained older dogs, helping them develop social skills, confidence, and focus in a more natural, real-world way.
Rather than just playing with other puppies, they’re exposed to a variety of ages, breeds, and temperaments, which sets them up for better behaviour as they grow.

You’ll receive a confirmation email upon booking with a detailed list of what to bring. However, for all lessons and classes, owners should always bring:
A fixed-length lead
Plenty of food to reinforce behaviours
Poo bags
Appropriate footwear for outdoor training
-
Yes, you can bring multiple dogs, but each dog must have its own handler to ensure they receive the attention they need during exercises.
